One Global Integrated Partner

From Subsea Depths
To Topside Solutions

STAPEM Group is more than a collection of experts; we are a unified industrial partner delivering integrated offshore solutions. By connecting high-level engineering with robust marine and subsea operations under one banner, we reduce your interfaces and de-risk your projects-from concept to execution.

Engineering Precision.
Operational Agility.

We bridge the gap between the design office and the offshore site.
Our DNA combines high-level technical rigor with a pragmatic “boots on the deck” culture,
ensuring that every solution we conceive is safe, deliverable, and efficient in the harshest environments.

Technical Excellence

Powered by our engineering hubs (d2m, Mareal) and innovation centers. We combine naval architecture, structural analysis, and robotics to solve complex challenges before they reach the water.

Operational Agility

A "boots on the deck" culture forged over 37 years of operations in West Africa and the Middle East. We own our assets, manage our fleets, and deploy our teams rapidly to support your campaigns.

Safety & Quality

A "Zero Compromise" commitment shared by our 800+ employees. Whether in a design office or on a vessel, we operate under a unified QHSE framework compliant with the highest international standards (IMCA, ISO).

The Genesis in Africa

Foundation of STAPEM Offshore in Angola
The journey begins in West Africa. STAPEM Offshore is established in Angola to provide diving and marine maintenance services to oil majors. This foundational era forged our "boots on the deck" DNA and our reputation for operational excellence in challenging environments
1989

Resilience in Action

Strategic Relocation to the Republic of the Congo
Following the outbreak of conflict in Soyo (Angola), STAPEM demonstrates its agility and commitment to business continuity by establishing a strategic base in Pointe-Noire (Republic of the Congo), ensuring the uninterrupted management of Angolan operations. This period cements our reputation for reliability in complex and volatile environments.
1992

Anchoring in Angola

Pioneering the Sonils Free Zone
STAPEM returns to Angola by establishing operations at the Sonils base in Luanda. Among the early companies to invest in this strategic free zone, we reinforce our local presence and proximity to major operators, laying the foundations for decades of sustained development in the region.
1998

Expanding Technical Services

The Kwanda Maintenance Yard
We strengthen our presence in Angola with a return to the Kwanda base to develop specialized infrastructure. STAPEM establishes a dedicated yard for the maintenance of floating hoses, adding a critical technical capability to our portfolio and reinforcing our role in asset integrity management.
2003

Commitment to International Standards

IMCA Contractor Membership
STAPEM Offshore became a Contractor Member of the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) for its operations in Angola. Covering Diving and Remote Systems & ROV activities, our membership applies to surface-supplied diving operations in Europe and Africa. Since then, we have maintained continuous IMCA membership, reflecting our commitment to internationally recognized safety guidelines, structured operational standards and disciplined marine execution.
2007

Formalizing Quality Management

Launch of ISO 9001 Certification
STAPEM initiated its ISO 9001 certification process, formalizing a structured quality management system across its offshore operations. This marked the beginning of a disciplined approach to documented procedures, continuous improvement and performance monitoring. Today, STAPEM Offshore operates under a triple ISO-certified management system. Its operational sites in Angola (Luanda and Soyo), France (Paris and Haguenau), and Qatar are certified under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, embedding quality, environmental responsibility and occupational health & safety within a unified global framework.

The Engineering Pivot

Integration of d2m Engineering & Services
A strategic turning point: STAPEM integrates d2m (established in the 1980s). The Group moves beyond pure operations to acquire in-house capabilities in naval architecture and project management, laying the first stone of the "Integrated Engineering Hub".
2013

Strengthening the Engineering Hub

Integration of Mareal
The acquisition of Mareal completes our engineering portfolio. By combining d2m's floating expertise with Mareal's fixed structure know-how, STAPEM becomes a full-spectrum engineering player, capable of addressing both Oil & Gas and Marine Renewable Energies
2016

Strengthening Regional Expertise

Integration of TTSM (Senegal)
STAPEM Group integrates Tous Travaux Sous-Marins (TTSM), a marine and diving company established in 1965 in Senegal. With more than five decades of experience in subsea, survey and marine services across West Africa, TTSM reinforces the Group’s operational depth and regional footprint. Fully integrated within STAPEM Group, TTSM plays a key role in connecting survey, marine operations and offshore execution capabilities, strengthening our position as a truly integrated offshore partner.
2018

Strategic Expansion

Opening of the Middle East Hub
To diversify beyond West Africa, the Group structures its presence in the Middle East, specifically in UAE and Qatar. This move positions STAPEM as a key partner for major energy players in the Gulf, expanding our marine services footprint to a new strategic region.
2018

Conquering the Deep

Integration of Film-Ocean (UK)
STAPEM acquires the Scottish company Film-Ocean. We integrate a high-tech fleet of ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles), complementing our human diving teams with subsea robotics. This is a decisive step toward reducing risk and mastering deep-water inspection.

Powering the Energy Transition

Major Success in Offshore Wind (HVDC Projects)
Through its subsidiary Mareal, the Group cements its role in the energy transition by delivering critical studies for major North Sea projects (such as DolWin6 and BorWin4). This validates our ability to engineer massive structures for the renewable energy sector.

The Integrated Flagship

Commissioning of the STAPEM Boreale
Official launch of the STAPEM Boreale in Angola. This vessel embodies our integrated vision: a STAPEM marine asset, modified by STAPEM engineering, deploying STAPEM ROVs. It stands as the physical proof of our autonomy and synergistic power.
2024

From Sea to Sky

Acquisition of ROAV7
The Group finalizes the integration of ROAV7, a specialist in aerial drone inspection and data processing. This acquisition completes the "From Subsea to Topside" promise: we now master the entire value chain, from the seabed to the top of the flare tip, including digital twins.
